Cross Street is our first 12 Pack Quilt Feature for 2023. 

Patterns for the 12 Pack quilts are only available at quilt shops. Ask your favorite shop to download the pattern from the Moda website. And, be sure to check if they are offering a kit.

Cross Street is designed to mix 12 fat quarters with a background print. 

For my quilt, I started by making that oh-so-difficult decision to untie my bundles and sort out all the prints. I mixed fabrics from Seashore Drive by Sherri & Chelsea and Jolie by Chez Moi.

The pattern uses 12 different fat quarters. I began by selecting the 24 shown above which are some of my favorites from both lines. 

Then, came the hard part--narrowing the 24 down to 12. For this part, focus on the prints and colors you love.  For example, I really like shades of blue and purple. So, I included more of those shades and used just a couple of the peach and green shades as my accents.

Here's my final 12 fat quarters. They are shown with my background fabric. Of course, I'm using Grunge--this time color 541, Soft Clear Water.

Once you pick your 12 fat quarters, it's time to cut the fabrics. Those instructions are straight-forward and this is definitely a pattern where you should cut all your pieces first, before you start sewing.

Then, the fun really begins. Carefully review the directions under "Construction". You need to create pairs of coordinating strip sets from your fabrics. It's important to plan that out in advance so you don't end up with a couple of pairs that you really don't like or that don't look good together.
