From Fabric 1 (DARK PETALS), cut:
[A] (2) 2½” squares
[B] (2) 1½” squares
[C] (2) 2” squares
From Fabric 2 (LIGHT PETALS), cut:
[A] (2) 2½” squares
[B] (2) 1½” squares
From Fabric 3 (LEAVES), cut:
[C] (6) 2” squares
From Background, Fabric cut:
[B] (4) 1½” squares
[C] (4) 2” squares
[D] (4) 1½” x 2½” rectangles
12” BLOCK
From Fabric 1 (DARK PETALS), cut:
[A] (2) 4½” squares
[B] (2) 2½” squares
[C] (2) 3” squares
From Fabric 2 (LIGHT PETALS), cut:
[A] (2) 4½” squares
[B] (2) 2½” squares
From Fabric 3 (LEAVES), cut:
[C] (6) 3” squares
From Background, Fabric cut:
[B] (4) 2½” squares
[C] (4) 3” squares
[D] (4) 2½” x 4½” rectangles
STEP 1. MAKE PETALS
Use the Easy Corner Triangle Method: mark a pencil line along the diagonal of the wrong side of each [B] Leaf fabric square. Align with the corner of [A] square. Sew on the pencil line. Cut ¼” away from line and press. Repeat on to make 2 of each color pairing as shown.
Add light/dark petal [B] squares to the opposite corners using ECT method. Make 2 of each combination as shown.
Join 4 petal blocks to make rose center.
STEP 2. MAKE HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES
Draw a pencil line on the diagonal of each [C] leaf fabric square. Pair a background [C] square, right sides together. Sew ¼” away from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line and press.
Trim to:
6” finished block - 1½” square
12’ finished block - 2½” square
Repeat to make 12 total half square triangles in combinations shown.
STEP 3. ASSEMBLE BLOCK
Lay out block components as shown. Join together. Press well.
