Stitch Pink Block 28
Stitch Pink Block 28
Granny Squares. Where is it written that a grandmother can't still be funky and cool, have a mind of her own, and know how to have fun?
You can't control how other people see you or think of you. And you have to be comfortable with that. Helen Mirren. (Not a grandmother, but at seventy, she is smart, self-assured and entirely authentic.)
Block Instructions >> Block 28 - Groovy Granny.
These corners are a skosh over-sized to allow the block to be trimmed square, and to size. Between us, I cut them a 1/4" bigger. Just in case. Because my seam allowance is usually a thread or so bigger than it should be. (One day soon, we're going to talk about that whole scant 1/4" thing, and seam allowance.)
This is Carrie Straka's Just Red Groovy Granny. (Say that three times fast!) Just Red is from Zen Chic.
This block has a bevy of Goovy Grannys as both Judy Adams, the maker, and Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic, the designer of the Quotation collection Judy used, are grandmothers.
This is BasicGrey's Groovy Granny with a spark of pink from their 2012 collection, Kissing Booth.
You write your life story by the choices you make. Helen again.
If this is your first Stitch Pink block, everything we've shared can be found here - Stitch Pink Archive.
As always, we hope you're being inspired by the blocks and stitching being shared on Facebook and Instagram with our hashtag - #ModaStitchPink. (We hope you're sharing your stitching there too.)
Stay well. (Only two more blocks!)
