INGREDIENTS
FROM FABRIC A, CUT:
* (16) 2” squares
* (4]) 2” x 5” rectangles
* (4) 2” x 3½” rectangles
FROM FABRIC B, CUT:
* (4) 3½” x 5” rectangles
* (4) 3½” squares
FROM FABRIC C, CUT:
* (12) 2” squares
FROM FABRIC D, CUT:
* (1) 3½” square
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1. MAKE CENTER SQUARE IN A SQUARE
Take 3½” square of Fabric D. Take 2” square of fabric C. Draw diagonal line across the back of the squares of Fabric C. Place right sides together and sew on drawn line. Trim and press open. Repeat for the remaining four corners.
STEP 2. MAKE FLOWER PETALS
Take 3½” x 5” rectangle of Fabric B. Take 2” square of Fabric C. Draw diagonal line across the back of the squares of Fabric C. Place right sides together and sew on drawn line. Trim and press open. Repeat for the other corner of the 3½” side. Take 2” square of Fabric A. Draw diagonal line across the back. Place right sides together and sew on drawn line. Trim and press open. Repeat for the final corner. Make a total of four rectangle units.
STEP 3. MAKE CORNER UNITS
Take 3½” square of Fabric B and 2” square of Fabric A. Draw diagonal line across the back of the Fabric A. Place right sides together and sew on drawn line. Trim and press open. Repeat for the opposite corner. Make a total of four square units.
Sew 3½” by 2” rectangle of Fabric A on one side of square. Sew 5” by 2” rectangle of Fabric A to perpendicular edge. Make a total of four corner units.
ASSEMBLE THE BLOCK
Join block units as shown. Trim block to 12½” unfinished size.
