From EACH OF 4 fabrics, cut:
[A] (1) 1½” square
[B] (1) 2” square
From BACKGROUND fabric, cut:
[A] (4) 1½” squares
[B] (4) 2” squares
6” BLOCK
From EACH OF 4 fabrics, cut:
[A] (1) 2” square
[B] (1) 2½” square
From BACKGROUND fabric, cut:
[A] (4) 2” squares
[B] (4) 2½” squares
12” BLOCK
From EACH OF 4 fabrics, cut:
[A] (1) 3½” square
[B] (1) 4” square
From BACKGROUND fabric, cut:
[A] (4) 3½” squares
[B] (4) 4” squares
STEP 1. MAKE HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES
Draw a pencil line on the diagonal of each larger background square. Pair with a same sized print square, right sides together. Sew ¼” away from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line and press.
Trim to:
4” finished block - 1½” square
6” finished block - 2” square
12’ finished block - 3½” square
Repeat to make 8 total half square triangles (2 of each print/solid)
STEP 2. MAKE CORNER UNITS
Join HSTs with background and coordinating print squares as shown to make a corner unit.
Repeat to make 1 corner unit in each print/solid.
STEP 3. ASSEMBLE BLOCK
Lay out block components as shown. Join together. Press well.
